Transparency International Sri Lanka presents a detailed review of kleptocratic tactics affecting the country. It investigates the structural deterioration of accountability frameworks, influence on public officials, abuse of state-owned enterprises, and procurement malpractice. The presentation touches on family domination, media manipulation, and social media weaponization, as well as civil society suppression and the role of professional gatekeepers in enabling kleptocracy. It also investigates unlawful financial transactions, military appointments, foreign policy manipulation, judicial influence, electoral process manipulation, and connections to criminal networks. Recommendations for both domestic and transnational contexts are provided to successfully promote good change and oppose corruption.
Our Mission is to stop corruption and promote transparency, accountability and integrity at all levels and across all sectors of society.
